30% Bonus On Hotel Points Transfers to United Airlines (Decent Deal With Marriott Points)

By | Posted:

Through November 30, 2018, you can earn a 30% bonus when you transfer hotel points to United Airlines.

We usually don’t recommend doing this because of the poor transfer ratios.  But it’s a good deal if you have Marriott points to use.  And it could also be worth it to use any excess hotel points you don’t have a need for.

With This Bonus, You Could Wind Up With Enough United Airlines Miles for a Round-Trip Ticket to New York City From Anywhere In the US!

Eligible hotel programs include:

  • Choice Hotels
  • Golden Circle (Shangri-La Hotels)
  • Hilton
  • Hyatt
  • IHG
  • Le Club Accor Hotels
  • Marriott
  • Radisson
  • Wyndham

You can earn a maximum bonus of 25,000 United Airlines miles through this promotion.  So if you transfer large amounts of hotel points, the bonus is actually less than 30%.  And most of the transfer options aren’t worth considering due to the poor transfer rates.  But the exception is Marriott!

The transfer rate is normally 3 Marriott points = 1.1 United miles.  Plus you’ll get a 5,000 point bonus when you transfer 60,000 points.  So you could transfer 60,000 Marriott points and receive 35,750 United Airlines miles (27,500 United miles from the transfer + 8,250 bonus United Airlines miles (30% bonus)) .  That’s more than enough for a round-trip coach ticket anywhere in the US (25,000 United Airlines miles), with miles to spare!
