This is our permanent page for Chase Freedom quarterly bonus category updates.  So you can bookmark it as it will be updated regularly.  And to stay on top of every other deal, subscribe to our newsletter.

There’s a fresh set of new bonus categories for Chase Freedom® cardholders this quarter.  If you plan accordingly, you can make the most of your bonus, earning $75 cash back (7,500 Chase Ultimate Rewards points)!

The new bonus categories are available on qualifying purchases made between October 1 and December 31, 2018.

In the Final Quarter of 2018, You’ll Be Able to Earn Bonus Chase Ultimate Rewards Points for Purchases Made With Chase Pay!

After you activate the bonus (by December 14, 2018) you will earn 5% cash back (5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points per $1 spent) at department stores, wholesale clubs (like Costco!), and on Chase Pay purchases, on up to $1,500 in combined spending.

Having Chase Pay as a bonus category makes it especially easy to earn the full bonus this quarter.  Because Chase Pay is accepted in so many places!

Just remember, stores like Target and Walmart are NOT considered department stores.  And you wouldn’t normally earn bonus points on gas purchases made at wholesale clubs.  But you can get around these exclusions by using Chase Pay in order to qualify for the bonus!

When pooled with points from annual-fee Chase cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, those bonus points would be enough to earn you a free stay at a category 1 Hyatt hotel with points to spare!  Or you can transfer them to other terrific partners like United Airlines or Southwest for nearly free flights.

If you make the most of your spending every quarter, you can earn $300 per year (30,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points) in bonus category spending alone (4 quarters X $75 per quarter)!
