Have some PTO you need to use before the end of the year?  Because right now, there are cheap flights popping up to the major Hawaiian islands.

There are great deals from a handful of US cities for as little as ~$247 round-trip in coach.  Sale cities include Los Angeles, Seattle, New York, Minneapolis, Phoenix, and more!

When prices are this low it can be a great time to consider paying for your flights with points because you’ll often end up using fewer points for your flight – and you’ll earn frequent flyer miles at the same time!

Getting to Hawaii for Under $300 Round-Trip Is an Absolute Steal!

These cheap fares are mainly for September and October 2018.  But I’m seeing decent prices on various routes through the end of the year.  So it’s worth searching your home airport and travel dates to see if you can find a discounted fare that fits your travel plans!

The best deals seem to be on American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, and Delta.

I Found Nonstop Flights From Seattle to Kauai for $247 Round-Trip!

For example, there are round-trip coach flights from:

  • Seattle to Maui for $297, or Kauai for $247
  • Los Angeles to Oahu for $297
  • Salt Lake City to Kauai for $362
  • Phoenix to Maui for $355
  • and more!

Double check for discounts on routes that fit your travel plans.  Here are our posts on how to use Google Flights and ITA Matrix to find sale dates.  Then book directly on the airlines’ website, or through a site like Orbitz.

With prices as low as this, it can make sense to pay with points for your flights to Hawaii.  You could end up paying fewer points compared to booking an award ticket.  You’ll even earn frequent flyer miles while you’re at it!

Paying ~16,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards or US Bank Altitude Reserve Points Is an Absolute Steal to Visit Hawaii. Plus, You’ll Earn Miles for Flying!

For example, if you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve® you can pay for airfare through the Chase travel portal for 1.5 cents per point.  Or with the U.S. Bank Altitude™ Reserve Visa Infinite® Card your points are worth the same 1.5 cents per point when you book airfare through the US Bank travel center.  So the cheapest flights will only set you back ~16,440 points with either card (~$247 airfare / 1.5 cents per point)!

Aloha!  Let us know if you book a ticket!
