The Top 3 Most Fun Ways I’ve Used Chase Points – Keith

Chase Ultimate Rewards points are my favorite type of flexible credit card points.  I’ve redeemed more than a million of these points over the past few years to save BIG on lots of different types of travel.

Besides amazing redemption options, Chase Ultimate Rewards points are easy to earn.  I have 4 cards in my wallet earning these valuable points.  Each card has different bonus spending categories, which makes it easy to accumulate points on everyday purchases.

I hope some of my top redemptions can serve as travel inspiration for you!

Here’s How to Earn Chase Ultimate Rewards Points

Chase issues some of the most valuable travel rewards credit cards.  Here are a few of our favorites:

Having one of the above cards gives you the ability to transfer points directly to these Chase airline and hotel partners:

  • Aer Lingus
  • British Airways
  • Flying Blue (KLM & Air France)
  • Hyatt
  • Iberia
  • IHG
  • Marriott
  • Korean Air
  • Singapore Airlines
  • Southwest
  • United Airlines
  • Virgin Atlantic

Southwest Is One of My Favorite Chase Transfer Partners Because I Can Use Points to Save on Airfare for Weekend Getaways, Especially Because I Have the Companion Pass!

And once you have one of the 3 powerful premium cards mentioned above, consider adding any of these cards:

If you only have cards from the above list, the points you earn will only be worth 1 cent each toward cash back or travel through the Chase portal.  But the trick is, you can earn points with these cards, then combine them to one of the premium cards I mentioned earlier (Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve, or Ink Business Preferred).

My wife and I take advantage of the best credit card offers to earn lucrative sign-up bonuses.  And we each submit separate applications, so we both earn the sign-up bonus.

We also qualify for small business credit cards because we sell items on eBay for a profit along with a few other side hustles.  Applying for Chase small business cards helps us boost our miles & points account balances!

1.   Six Business Class Award Seats on a Flight Home From Sydney

Last year, my wife and I were thrilled to travel with her parents and family friends to New Zealand and Australia.  In total, we used more than 1 million points (mostly from Chase) to get  $60,000+ worth of travel on this trip!

One of the miles & points highlights of the trip was booking 6 Business Class award seats home from Sydney.  Paying cash for the same 6 seats would have cost nearly $45,000!

But by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to United Airlines miles, my only out-of-pocket expense was ~$540 to cover the taxes & fees for all 6 award tickets.

My wife, in-laws, and family friends loved the comfortable lie-flat seats for the ~14 hour flight home.

Treating Family and Friends to Business Class Seats for a ~14 Hour Flight Home From Sydney Was One of the More Memorable Ways I’ve Used Chase Ultimate Rewards Points!

2.   All-Inclusive Stay at a Top Rated Wellness Resort

I recently wrote about a life-changing trip my wife and I took to Miraval Resort.  To make this trip possible, I transferred Chase Ultimate Rewards points to my Hyatt account.  Then, booked a free night at the resort.

Paying cash for a double occupancy room at the resort could cost more than $1,500 per night.  And aside from the amazing value we got by using points, experiencing new activities like meditation and team building exercises made this use of points extremely fun.

As a reminder, when you use points to book at Miraval, each person gets a $175 per day resort credit.  So you can splurge on limited activities or treat yourself to a spa service.

Also, if you don’t mind traveling to Arizona in the middle of summer, it’s a fantastic time to consider a trip to Miraval.  Because there’s a 50% points rebate deal, which is valid until August 31, 2018.

3.   Singapore Airlines First Class Suite

Finishing up our around-the-world honeymoon by flying home in a luxurious First Class Suite was a real treat.

I transferred Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Singapore Airlines miles to book 2 seats in First Class between Singapore and Los Angeles.

The food, service, and comfort of Singapore Airlines First Class Suites were all amazing!  And using points for a ticket that would otherwise cost $10,000 makes the experience that much more enjoyable!

Bottom Line

Chase Ultimate Rewards points are fantastic to collect because they’re easy to earn and you can redeem them for amazing travel experiences.  I have 4 credit cards in my wallet that earn these flexible points.  With these Chase cards, I’ve been able to earn lucrative sign-up bonuses and ongoing points from everyday purchases.

I’ve saved money on dozens of trips by making the most of my Chase Ultimate Rewards points.  Here are a few of my favorite redemptions:
