There are some great deals in today’s news roundup!

1.   Flying Blue Promo Rewards for August 2018

Through August 30, 2018, you can book the current Flying Blue Promo Rewards.  These awards are valid for travel from September 30 to November 29, 2018, on eligible Air France and KLM flights.

At 22,000 Flying Blue Miles for a Round-Trip Flight to Paris, You’ve Got No Excuse for Not Taking That Dream Trip to France!

There are some great deals, including:

  • New York to or from Paris for 50% off Air France coach award flights (as little as 22,000 Flying Blue miles round-trip + ~$240 in fees)
  • 25% off Air France coach award flights to or from Boston
  • 50% off KLM Business Class flights to or from Edmonton
  • 25% off KLM & Air France Business Class and 25% off Air France coach award flights to or from Vancouver
  • 25% off KLM Business Class flights to or from Calgary

If you don’t have any Flying Blue miles, that’s okay, because they are transfer partners with Chase Ultimate Rewards, AMEX Membership Rewards, and Citi ThankYou.  And until August 29, 2018, there’s a 30% bonus if you transfer Citi ThankYou points to Flying Blue!

That means you could fly from New York to Paris and back with only 17,000 Citi ThankYou points (17,000 Citi ThankYou points + 30% bonus when transferring to Flying Blue)!

You can see the promo rewards and look for available award seats here.

2.   Virgin Atlantic and JetBlue AMEX Membership Rewards Transfer Bonuses

One of the biggest advantages to collecting AMEX Membership Rewards points is their frequent transfer bonuses.  And we’ve got 2 new ones to share with you!

Virgin Atlantic 30% Transfer Bonus

Until September 12, 2018, you’ll get a 30% bonus on AMEX Membership Rewards points transferred to Virgin Atlantic!

Virgin Atlantic award flights typically have excessive taxes, fees, and fuel surcharges, which make their award flights a mixed bag.  But they have a great partner award chart for ANA flights!

This chart has the prices for round-trip award flights:

Transfer AMEX Membership Rewards Points to Virgin Atlantic to Take Advantage of Their Lucrative ANA Partner Award Chart

Normally, you can book a First Class ANA partner award to Japan for 110,000 to 120,000 Virgin Atlantic miles.  But with this transfer bonus, every 1,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points you transfer is worth 1,300 Virgin Atlantic miles.

So you can book the same awards by transferring only 85,000 to 93,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points to Virgin Atlantic (85,000 or 93,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points + 30% transfer bonus)!

JetBlue 25% Transfer Bonus

The second transfer bonus is slightly less valuable mostly because the transfer ratio to JetBlue is normally 5:4.  With the 25% bonus it brings the transfer ratio up to 1:1.  So if you have been wanting to transfer AMEX Membership Rewards points to JetBlue, you have until October 1, 2018, to take advantage of this transfer bonus.  And you will pay a fee to transfer AMEX Membership Rewards points to a US airline like JetBlue.

But for folks who have The Business Platinum® Card from American Express OPEN, you’re likely better off using Pay With Points to pay for JetBlue flights with AMEX Membership Rewards points.

You’ll earn a 35% points rebate on all Business Class and First Class flights purchased with points through the AMEX travel portal.  And if JetBlue is your selected airline, you’ll get the same rebate on JetBlue coach flights purchased with AMEX Membership Rewards points.

To see how the rebate works (and how valuable it can be), check out this post.

If you want more AMEX Membership Rewards points to take advantage of these deals, the AMEX Business Platinum card has a limited-time (until August 8, 2018) increased 100,000-point bonus offer after meeting the card’s tiered minimum spending requirements.

3.   No More Multiple AMEX Offers Trick!

Lots of folks love getting (and holding onto) American Express cards because of valuable perks like AMEX Offers.  I’ve personally used these offers to save $100s on paid hotel stays over the years.

Previously, if you had more than 1 AMEX card, you were able to add a single AMEX Offers to multiple cards using the multi-tab trick.  But it appears that trick is now dead.

Miles to Memories and several other folks have reported that it looks like you’ll only be able to add each AMEX Offer to a single card, regardless of how many AMEX cards you have.
